La Seigneurie
Visit the home of the head of state here on Sark
The head of state on the island is Major Christopher Beaumont and he lives in La Seigneurie.
Both the House and the gardens of the Seigneurie open to the public as of 2018 and they are a treat to see.
You’ll most likely bump into Christopher during your visit so be sure to let him know you are staying at Le Vieux Port House. He has his own solar panels to generate the electricity he needs to power La Seigneurie and is doing all he can to limit his impact on the environment.
In the grounds of La Seigneurie there is a maze, gardens and Hathaways restaurant. As an investment into the island Hathaways remains open until 3pm every day for lunch and offers takeaway foods upon request.
There is a secret short cut on the path to La Moinerie (a hotel built on the ruins of an old farm on the site of a medieval monastery).
